A Japanese colonial era wooden office building in Puli, Nantou, built in 1917 to administer a university research forest at today’s Huisun Forest (惠蓀林場) in Ren’ai. The forest was under the stewardship of Hokkaido Imperial University (北海道帝國大學); in the post-war period this passed to National Chung Hsing University (國立中興大學), which ran its experimental forest management office here until 1954. Framed in timber and roofed with the diamond-shaped metal tiles characteristic of Hokkaido, the building was damaged in the 921 Earthquake and later repaired, gaining heritage registration in 2011.
