Dormitories for senior police officers built on Shijie Street (世界街) after Zhudong became the seat of Zhudong District (竹東郡) in 1920, later housing the chief, deputy chief, and secretary of the local police precinct. The principal residences were demolished around 2020, leaving only fragments in the alleys behind, possibly post-war housing for rank-and-file officers.
