A theater named Ryūtan-za (龍潭座) or Ryūtan-gekijō (龍潭劇場) was established on this site in 1936. It was likely more of a traditional performance venue. In the post-war era it was presumably renamed Longtan Theater (龍潭戲院). Eventually the original structure was demolished to make way for the commercial high-rise building that now stands on this site. This building, in turn, was home to a second-run, single-screen cinema. It closed in 2009, but the name is still visible over the entrance. Also known as Xinxin Theater (欣欣戲院). Tickets for Fudu Theater (富都大戲院) found inside might also indicate another renaming at some point, or perhaps it was owned by the same company that managed the second-run theater of that name in Dajia.
