Húnèi (湖內) is a rural district in northwestern Kaohsiung, bordering Tainan across the Erren River (二仁溪). The tomb of Zhū Shùguì (朱術桂), the last King of Dongning (寧靖王), is located here; he was buried among hundreds of decoy graves to prevent desecration and was not rediscovered until 1937. Faint traces of Japanese colonial times and the early post-war era can still be seen in the ruins of Wenxian Theater (文賢戲院) and Dahu Tomato Cannery (大湖番茄會社), both widely known in the urban exploration community.
