Diyi Theater (第一戲院) was a mid-sized cinema established in Hukou in 1954 as Xinhu Theater (新湖戲院) by Fu Zuxiang (傅祖相), son of the founder of Hukou Theater. It had a stated capacity of 800. Eventually it was converted into a branch of the PXmart supermarket chain1, but that also closed in the late 2010s. After a period of abandonment it was demolished in March 2023.

Footnotes
-
Netizens jokingly referred to this as PXmart Theater (全聯戲院), but this is not the only one! PXmart has also repurposed Taishan Theater (泰山戲院) in Xihu, Jinchong’an Theater (金崇安戲院) in Tainan, and Alian Theater (阿蓮戲院) in Alian, among others. ↩
