Completed in 1935 with investment from tea merchant Chen Tianlai (陳天來), this was a luxurious theater and performance venue with a revolving stage and a capacity of approximately 1,600. It was comparable to Zhongshan Hall in several accounts. After suffering a fire in 1969 it doesn’t seem to have recovered. It was demolished decades ago and replaced by a commercial tower.
