Completed in 1933, this Japanese colonial era police station was constructed with stone from the old Taipei city walls, part of which can still be seen in the alleyway immediately to the south of the station. In the post-war era it continued to operate as a police station. The police vacated the building in 2013 and it underwent restoration work, opening to the public as Taiwan New Cultural Movement Memorial Museum (臺灣新文化運動紀念館) in 2018.
