Dadaocheng Kenban (大稻埕檢番) - Spectral Codex
大稻埕檢番

The corner lot of this famous Japanese colonial era commercial building may hvae once housed the Dadaocheng Kenban, an organization responsible for managing the local (e.g. non-Japanese) red-light district in the area. It was originally established in 1927 at another location but seems to have moved to this building in 1935, around the time of the Taiwan Expo (始政四十周年記念臺灣博覽會).
