A modest sugar factory established in 1917 by Matsuoka Tomio (松岡富雄), who upgraded a traditional sugar mill in Shuqilin (樹杞林), the former name of Zhudong. It stood across from Xiaojiang Pavilion but vanished long ago; the site has long since been redeveloped as housing.
