Built in 1919, this Japanese colonial era police station (梧棲官吏派出所) and adjoining dormitory complex sits on Wuqi Old Street beside Chaoyuan Temple. The site continued to serve as a police substation under the ROC until the 1970s, when expansion around Taichung Port prompted the police to relocate, leaving the buildings were left vacant. Designated a city monument in 2010, the complex was restored and reopened in 2021 as a cultural venue (梧棲文化出張所) with exhibition space, a market, and a guesthouse.
