Golden age cinema in Zhongshan District established in 1951. It was soon renamed Huanqiu Theater (環球戲院) in 1953 and finally Jinshan Theater (金山戲院) in 1957. Initially it was mainly a venue for traditional opera and performance but it began screening more films starting in 1958 and eventually became a second-run cinema for a brief period starting in 1972.
