Yongjing Sacred Banyan (永靖古樹公) - Spectral Codex

A banyan tree worshipped as a deity in the middle of Yongfu Road in Fuxing Village (福興村). The original tree was over 200 years old but died around the 1940s; the current tree was planted in its place and has since grown to over 15 meters tall with a crown spanning nearly 700 square meters. When the road was widened, construction went around the tree rather than removing it after divination blocks refused permission to relocate. Families bring sickly children to pray on Mid-Autumn Festival and take leaves to wear as talismans, returning when the child turns sixteen to fulfill their vow.

It is documented in the book Parasitic Temples as the Under-Canopy Temple (樹冠下廟).
