Yongjing Yusan Hall

A sanheyuan in Yongjing completed in 1891 by Chen Youguang (陳有光), head of a branch of the Chen family from Raoping that had grown wealthy opening land in the Qing dynasty. Prince Kitashirakawa Yoshihisa (北白川宮能久親王) stayed here for three nights during the 1895 invasion of Taiwan, an event memorialized by a monument standing outside the house. The monument was erected in 1934 in a memorial park laid out on the fields in front. After the war the family returned the park to rice paddies and put the monument away, but it has since been set up again.
