Yancheng Jiulong Building (鹽埕九龍大廈) - Spectral Codex

A nine-storey mixed-use building at the corner of Xinxing Street (新興街) and Dagong Road (大公路) in Yancheng, Kaohsiung, originally known sa the Longsheng Building (龍生大廈). In May 1989 an arsonist firebombed the basement karaoke bar after a drunken dispute with its owner; the fire spread up the stairwell, killing 24 people, many of them trapped against a rooftop escape door that a ninth-floor resident had padlocked to guard his racing-pigeon loft. The two ringleaders were sentenced to death and executed the following year. It was renamed after the disaster in an attempt to escape the stigma but the building was never redeveloped and remains one of Kaohsiung’s most infamous haunted sites.
