Established in the burgeoning Kaohsiung entertainment district of Yancheng in 1950, this theater was so popular that it closed in 1960 for a complete overhaul, reopening in 1962 with a capacity of 1,400 seats. It operated until the 1990s after which it shut down, only to be demolished and replaced by an apartment block shortly thereafter.
