Established in 1930 as Jusei-za (壽星座), this beloved theater was the site of a violent confrontation between ROC soldiers and local people that preceded the 228 Incident. It was later seized and nationalized by the KMT government. The theater was completely rebuilt at some point but seems to have kept the name. Eventually it became a second-run theater managed by Huang Bingxi (黃炳熙). While it was still running it had three halls, Shouxing Blue Hall (壽星藍廳), Wanshou Hall (萬壽聽), and Shouxing Red Hall (壽星紅聽). Out of business for many years now and stripped almost bare.
