Nongyuzijia Theater

Nongyuzijia Theater (農漁之家戲院) was established by the Farmers’ Association in 1955 in a former warehouse in Toucheng, Yilan County. The theater hall was upstairs and there were shops for rent on the ground floor starting in 1961. Not only was it a theater, but also a meeting hall for farmers and fishermen. Film screenings ended in 1983 and some of the space was converted for commercial use. It was eventually demolished in 2009, replaced by an empty lot later converted for parking. It was more generally known simply as Toucheng Theater (頭城戲院). The building is still visible on Google Street View if you go back to 2009.
