A flagpole house (旗桿厝) of the Li family of Zhongliao (忠寮), who settled in the hills of Tamsui in 1751 and built nine official-style compounds there between the 1850s and 1890s. The family produced three juren in the late Qing dynasty: Li Xiangkui (李祥奎) and Li Yingdong (李應東) in the military examination of 1885, and Li Yingchen (李應辰) in the civil examination of 1891. Family records place the rebuilding of this house on its present site in 1893, matching a date of 1894 painted in the main hall, whose timber frame, carving, painting, and clay sculpture survive from that time. It was designated a monument in 2018.
