One of two whitewashed residences with arched verandas that George Leslie Mackay designed and built in 1875 with materials shipped from Xiamen (廈門), the other being the neighbouring Missionary House. Mackay raised his family here, added a two-storey study at the rear, and died here in 1901; he is buried in the nearby Mackay Family Cemetery. During World War 2 the house sheltered displaced women, then served as a school dormitory and finally a munitions store. Mackay’s son and second daughter lived here until 1952, after which Aletheia University (真理大學) used it as a library, training hotel, and staff housing before opening it as a memorial hall in 2016. It has been closed to casual visitors since 2020.
