A three-storey Western-style residence on Minzu Road (民族路三段) in the old Five Channels (五條港) district, built for wealthy Fujian-born merchant Weng Luo (翁螺) sometime in the 1920s. The brick and timber building features a washed stone exterior with neo-Baroque ornamentation, copper-clad roof tiles, and a dance hall on the top floor. The Weng family was prominent in Tainan’s commercial and political circles; second son Weng Jinhui (翁金護) served as a city councillor and industrialist, while third son Weng Shuiyuan (翁水元) became a painter who exhibited alongside Chen Chengbo and Li Shiqiao before both brothers were arrested during the 228 Incident.
