An impressive Buddhist temple on the north edge of Tainan City near the Chaitougang Creek (柴頭港溪) bridge. The site originally held a Qing dynasty Fude Temple (福德祠) along with a shrine to Chen Yonghua (陳永華). In 1956 the nun Daomiao (道妙師), discovering a stele recording the site’s Buddhist origins, established a Buddhist hall within the existing shrine. The main hall was completed in 1962 and the temple rebuilt to its current scale in 2000.
