The First Freight Warehouses (第一貨物倉庫) of Taichung Railway Station line Xinmin Street (新民街) north of the tracks and were built between 1935 and 1945. The earliest, Nos. 8 and 10, were completed around 1935 to 1937 and designated a municipal monument in 2016. No. 8 is brick with timber roof trusses, while No. 10 is reinforced concrete with a steel truss and a cantilevered canopy over its doors. The later Nos. 11–17 are registered as a historic building and most retain their original roof trusses, but the whole group remains derelict and closed to the public.
