Sānmín (三民), formerly Sankuaicuo (三塊厝), is an inner city district in Kaohsiung and the most populous after Fengshan. It is the site of Kaohsiung Main Station and the Tangrong Brick Factory (中都唐榮磚窯廠), a national monument established in 1899 that once produced more than half of Taiwan’s bricks; the restored Sankuaicuo Railway Station (三塊厝車站) nearby was originally built to transport its output.
