Established in 1899 as one of the first modern brick factories in Taiwan. It continually expanded over the years and at some points accounted for more than half of the country’s brick production. The factory was especially notable for being the source of “TR” branded bricks found all over the country. Nowadays it is designated a national monument but the site has yet to be fully restored and opened to the public.
