Qíjīn (旗津), generally spelled Cijin in English, is a long, narrow sandbar island extending across Kaohsiung harbour. Formerly known as Qíhòu (旗後), it was originally a peninsula until the second harbour entrance was cut in 1967. The island is home to a Dachen Island resettlement village where two temples venerate Chiang Kai-shek, including the Lord Chiang Gratitude Pavilion (蔣公報恩觀), as well as a War and Peace Memorial Park commemorating those who perished in World War 2.
