A museum of applied science in Sanmin, Kaohsiung, laying claim to the title of the first of its kind in Taiwan, as distinct from the scope of the National Museum of Natural Science in Taichung. It was planned as one of the cultural facilities of the Twelve Major Construction Projects (十二項建設) announced in 1979, and was the first national educational institution in southern Taiwan. Construction began in 1989, and its eighteen permanent exhibition halls opened in stages between November 1997 and November 1998.

I’m originally from Toronto, Canada, but spend most of my time residing in Taiwan.
