Dahu Shinto Shrine (大湖神社) - Spectral Codex
Dahu Shinto Shrine (大湖神社)

Hardly any trace remains of the primary unranked (無格社) Shinto shrine in Dahu. It was established in March 1941, replacing an earlier shrine, and after the war briefly served as a Martyrs’ Shrine before falling into disrepair and being absorbed into Dahu Junior High School (大湖國民中學). The base platform of the main hall and the steps up to the honden can still be made out beside the basketball courts. Apparently some relics were relocated to a park in Miaoli City while two stone lanterns are preserved at the nearby Fabao Monastery (法寶寺). It was likely known as Taigo-jinja in the original Japanese.
