A first-class, second-generation post office established in central Chiayi City in 1939. Operations moved to the newer administrative building immediately to the east in 2006 after its heritage value was recognized in 2004. Renovations finally began in 2021, stripping off the characteristic green tile of the postal service to reveal the original façade along Wenhua Road (文化路).
