A former staff dormitory likely assigned to kitchen workers at the old Donghuang Hotel (東皇旅社), a Japanese colonial era hot springs inn in Guanziling (關子嶺). The main building was a two-storey wooden structure originally considered finer than the nearby Guanziling Hotel (關子嶺大旅社) but it fell into disrepair and the land was eventually sold to the Tongmao (統茂) hotel chain. This structure, likely the kitchen and staff quarters, survived separately but was visibly deteriorating for many years before being demolished in 2022.
