A temple venerating Guāngōng (關公) in Yanshui with uncertain origins, reportedly expanded in 1668 by associates of Koxinga. In 1803 a wealthy Lukang merchant funded major renovations after Guangong allegedly appeared to him as a wandering scholar and sorted out his tangled ledgers. Best known today as the origin point of the Yanshui Beehive Fireworks (鹽水蜂炮), a Lantern Festival tradition born from a late Qing plague-banishing procession. A large state of Guangong stands in the forecourt of the temple.
