Yanshui Railway Station (鹽水車站) - Spectral Codex

Established in 1909 by Yanshuigang Sugar Co. Ltd. (鹽水港製糖株式會社), primarily for the transportation of raw materials, but also for passengers and general freight. It has the distinction of being the first passenger station on the nascent sugar railway network, with service to Xinying. It was extensively bombed during World War 2 but soon rebuilt. Passenger service was suspended in 1979 and the station was derelict for many decades before the entire area, including the ruins of an old sugar company warehouse, were tidied up and turned into a public park.
