The original site of the main Shinto shrine of Takao (Kaohsiung), located at the entrance to Shoushan Park at the end of Wufu No. 4 Road (五福四路), with the main hall on the hill behind Shoulu Villa (壽麓山莊). Established in 1912 at the foot of Shoushan (壽山) and dedicated to Prince Kitashirakawa Yoshihisa (能久親王), Ōmononushi (大物主命), and Emperor Sutoku (崇德天皇). Renamed Takao Shrine (打狗神社) in 1920 and again to Kaohsiung Shrine (高雄神社) the same year when the city was renamed. The shrine relocated to the Shoushan hillside in 1928 and this original site was abandoned. Known as Takao Kotohira-jinja in the original Japanese, sometimes with alternate characters for Kotohira (琴平神社).
