A rare example of a Western-style mansion in rural Dacun. Built by the Lai family, it previously served as Dacun District Office (大庄區役場), or Ōshō-ku Yakuba, before being renovated into a residence. Previously it was known as the “scrapyard mansion” based on how the property was being used in the 2010s, but since it was awarded heritage status in 2019 the grounds have been cleaned up.
