Erchongnan Railway Station

Erchongnan, established in March 1919, was the second stop out from Yuanlin on the sugar railway running west to Xihu Sugar Factory. In 1956 it was the site of a collision that remains the deadliest accident in the history of the Taiwan sugar railways, killing four and injuring twenty-nine. The station house and track are long gone, but an old narrow gauge engine or wufenche (五分車) is displayed on site. The line has since been transformed into a bikeway, and it can be found midway along the Puxin section of the Yuanlin Sugar Railway Trail.
