Founded in 1941 by Dr. Zhang Jintong (張進通) and Dr. Xu Shixian (許世賢). Xu was Taiwan’s first female physician, earning her doctorate from Kyushu Imperial University in 1939. The converted hotel building featured advanced equipment including an X-ray room and 30 beds. Still private property; viewings may be arranged in advance.
