A provisional county-designated monument spanning the Donggang River (東港溪) on the northern edge of Chaozhou, Pingtung. Completed in 1920, the same year the railway reached Chaozhou and the district seat was established, it accelerated the growth of the sugar trade and commerce across the area south of the river. Its distinctive cylindrical piers, shaped to ease the flow of water, make it a close contemporary of the 1914 Lower Tamsui River Iron Bridge. Decommissioned in 2013, the bridge was converted into a cycle path by the county government, a clumsy renovation involving concrete and red paint that drew criticism from local heritage advocates.
