A Japanese military airfield built 1941–1942 and steadily dismantled after the war. The military retained part of the original runway for use as Chaozhou Parachute Training Ground (潮州空降場). Apart from that, a bomb-proof communication station (耐爆通信所) and an octagonal command center (八角形的耐爆指揮所) can still be found in the fields around the former airbase.
