A small temple in the Zhuwei (竹圍) area of Tamsui, built over a former hillside cemetery and named for seven unnamed dead (七善公) unearthed during development of the surrounding community. On the altar is an unusual stone idol known as Marshall Nadu (拿督元帥), a deified French naval officer said to have died in the 1884 Battle of Tamsui (滬尾之役). Local tradition holds he appeared to a villager in a dream asking to be carved from Guanyinshan (觀音山) stone, his golden hair marking his Western origin. He is honoured each year with a riverside offering (河祭) on the Tamsui River, alongside the district’s other wandering dead.
