A rice mill in the Xinmin (新民) in Yuli, on the road just north of the Lehe River Bridge (樂合溪橋). It was built in 1963 by Ye Xian (葉仙) and changed hands several times before closing in 1980. East of the Xiuguluan River (秀姑巒溪) lay Yuli’s largest expanse of paddy, isolated from town and without a granary of its own until this one entered into operation. Acquired at auction in 1990, the mill was converted in 2007 into the Jinxuanhua Homestay (金萱花民宿), which preserved the granary, the machine room, the husking and milling machines, and assorted farm implements. The milling machine, built of wood and standing two storeys tall, carries no heritage designation but is recognized as an antiquity.
