A former transshipment station for salt produced in the Qigu and Budai solar evaporation ponds constructed out of reinforced concrete in 1955. The salt was transported by narrow gauge rail and transferred here for onward shipment to the Port of Kaohsiung. It fell out of use after international export of salt ceased. Also known less formally as the Nanzhi Salt Loading Platform (南紙卸鹽台). It is now mainly used as a community garden. The platform is accessible to the determined but it is precarious in parts, be forewarned.
