A former Taiwan Sugar Corporation processing complex on the site of a Japanese colonial era alcohol factory operated by the Ensuikō Sugar Refining Company (鹽水港製糖株式會社). The yeast plant opened in 1957 and was reported at the time to be the largest of its kind in the world, producing up to 40 tonnes of yeast powder per day until operations ceased in 1994.
