A former Japanese colonial era garrison in Wufeng, originally established on the Maibarai Frontier Militia Line (マイバライ隘勇線), one of several security cordons along the Indigenous frontier. In the post-war era it was repurposed as Zhongxing Police Substation (忠興派出所) and eventually abandoned. The site is marked by an imposing flight of stone steps leading up from the road to a platform with some traces of the post-war station. It is notable for being one of the most easily accessed of the hundreds of former garrison posts in Taiwan’s mountainous interior, although you’d have to get all the way out here first.
