Established in 1665, this is perhaps the oldest temple in Taiwan dedicated to the veneration of Qingshui Zushi (清水祖師). It is the spiritual center of this small community on what was once a sandbar at the outer margins of Taijiang Lagoon (台江內海). Two historic dragon eye wells (龍目井) can be located on either side of the temple.
