Erkunshen Fort (二鯤鯓砲臺)

Nicknamed the Eternal Golden Castle (億載金城), this is a well-preserved Qing dynasty fortification built completed in 1876. It was intended to defend Taiwan’s southern coast against foreign invasion following the Mudan Incident. Now designated as a national monument, it is one of Taiwan’s most complete examples of late Qing military architecture.
