One of the few remaining traces dating back to the aborted attempt to construct a capital city for Taiwan Province in what later became Taichung. This pavilion was once part of the northern gate to the city, which was never finished. The Japanese authorities relocated it to this park in 1903. It is also known as Wangyue Pavilion (望月亭).
