Golden age theater established in the 1960s and operated by brothers Xiao Songchuan (蕭松川) and Xiao Songshan (蕭松山). Designed in a modernist style by Xie Birong (謝碧榮), it was famous for screening mainly foreign films. It eventually closed down like most other standalone theaters in Taichung, allegedly around 2003 when SARS struck Taiwan. Although it has long been abandoned parts of the building are still in use for parking.
