An early Shinto shrine completed in Taichung in September 1897, among the earliest established in Taiwan, and rebuilt several times. Its worshippers were drawn largely from the nearby red light district, Hatsune Yukaku (初音町遊廓), and geisha would pray here. The shrine was relocated several times: originally sited in what was then Tokiwa-chō (常盤町), north of present Chenggong Road, it moved in July 1915 and later to Hatsune-chō (初音町), beside the district police box near the corner of Chenggong Road and Dacheng Street. It was demolished after the war, and the site is now occupied by the Central District squad of the Taichung Fire Bureau (消防局第七大隊中區分隊) alongside private housing. No traces remain.
