Completed in 1918 on the southeastern edge of Taichung Park (臺中公園), this two-storey red brick hall in Taichung was designed by Matsugasaki Tsumunaga (松崎萬長) and paid for by local donors. It seated 600 and hosted meetings of the Taiwanese Cultural Association (臺灣文化協會) and other Taiwanese political and literary groups through the 1920s and 1930s. Renamed Zhongshan Hall (中山堂) after the war, it was demolished in the 1980s for a multi-storey car park on Ziyou Road (自由路), now attached to an outlet mall (日曜天地). No trace of it remains.
