Established in 1922 during the Japanese colonial era, this wooden office administered Su’ao County and also housed the police section, the local irrigation association, and a branch of the Patriotic Women’s Association. After the war it became a police precinct and was later sold to Xintai Mining (新台礦業), which dealt in mica from the site. A reinforced concrete building went up beside the wooden office in the post-war period, whether as the police precinct or for the mining company is unclear; damaged by Typhoon Pamela (波密拉颱風) in 1961, it stood abandoned until at least 2009. The land was sold to a developer around 2010 and is now occupied by the 13-storey Lakeshore Hotel (煙波大飯店).
