Established in 1961 by You Runxiang (尤潤香) after the township government opened a plot of land near the cold springs for sale. There were no other theaters operating in Su’ao proper at that time (the former Su’ao Theater was destroyed by a typhoon many years prior to this). Lei Hanxi (雷漢溪) from Yilan City was hired as a projectionist and marketer. As business declined the building was demolished and replaced by commercial units for sale.
